Description
Camaradly is a Culture Management Platform designed to help organizations build an irresistible culture that fosters team trust, celebrates diversity, and enhances employee engagement. The platform offers a system for bite-sized feedback and recognition, helping employees understand their manager’s expectations and making reviews more meaningful and efficient.

Introduction
The idea of Camaradly came to surface during the times of COVID, when remote workplace culture became a huge thing. The lack of physical interaction between the employers and employees caused friction in multiple areas. Hence the need of creating a platform came to existence that could facilitate conversations around feedback, engagement, and growth in the workplace.
This case study explores the UX design process behind Camaradly's platform, aiming to improve workplace culture and employee engagement.
Problem
Today's remote workplace culture certainly has it perks but when it comes to employee management and interaction, the lack of physical connection can have several challanges
Solution
Create a platform that help in transforming workplace interactions by fostering trust, transparency, and engagement. The goal is to simplify feedback processes and enhance recognition systems, thereby increasing employee engagement, which can help in making a remote working environment cohesive and supportive.
User Research
We conducted interviews with HR managers, team leads, and employees to understand pain points, expectations, and desired features. Key insights were:
Proactive management
Managers struggle to track team dynamics and address issues proactively
Simplified feedback
Employees want a simple, intuitive platform for feedback and recognition.
Transparency and trust
Transparency and trust form the bedrock of any successful implementation, especially when it comes to the adoption of new systems or processes.

User Flows
The user flows were designed to be intuitive and efficient, which would help encourage regular and meaningful exchanges of feedback within the organization, thereby enhancing the overall workplace culture as envisioned by Camaradly.

Ideations
A wide range of designs were created and tested. Various possiblities were explored and discussed both internally and externally before finalizing a particular design. The entire process was very iterative, which really helped me develop my mind muscles for creative, adaptability, flexibility and collaboration

Gamification
Despite the platform’s intuitive design, user adoption remained suboptimal. Managers and employees were not consistently engaging with Camaradly, which lead to exploring the integration of gamification elements
Implementation:
- Users receive points for consecutive check-ins.
- Daily challenges (e.g., give feedback to three team members) offer bonus points.
- Streaks (consecutive days of engagement) unlock rewards.
Impact:
- Increased platform visits and interactions.
- Users formed positive habits.

Final Designs
The final designs focused on enhancing user experience and engagement. The focus on trust, transparency, and engagement through design was key to the project’s success. Here’s a breakdown of the impactful elements:
Simplified Navigation:
The redesign of navigation with clear labels and intuitive paths was crucial in reducing user frustration and increasing platform adoption.
Personalization:
Customizable dashboards and notifications catered to individual preferences, making the platform more relevant and engaging for each user.

Reflection And Results
What would I have done differently?
1. Engaging users early in the design process could provide valuable insights that might refine the problem statement and design direction.
2. Expanding the research to include a wider range of industries and company sizes could uncover diverse needs and expectations, leading to a more versatile platform.
3. Implementing more frequent cycles of usability testing throughout the design process could help identify and address issues sooner, reducing the need for major changes later on.
What did I find challenging?
1. Creating a user-friendly interface that also offers comprehensive features was a delicate balance to maintain.
2. Ensuring seamless integration with tools like Slack required careful consideration of different workflows and user habits.
3. Overcoming initial resistance to adopting a new platform is always challenging, especially when it involves changing established workplace behaviors.
